The Taste New Zealand Chef of the Year Competition is an opportunity for UAE-based professional chefs to create dishes using a range of fresh New Zealand ingredients. Professional UAE chefs are invited to prepare dishes using New Zealand ingredients at three heats in 2017. Two winners will be selected from each of the three heats, who will then compete in a final where one winner will be chosen as the Taste New Zealand, Chef of the Year 2017.

The prize? A once in a lifetime return trip to New Zealand to experience the very best of New Zealand's food and beverage first hand.

The competition will run in three live cooking heats in a mystery box format.

  • Heat 1: Seafood on Monday 20th March
  • Heat 2: Poultry on Monday 17th April
  • Heat 3: Meat on Monday 15th May

The competing chefs for each heat will be selected according to the quality of their recipe submitted on-line.

The winners of each of the three heats will then battle it out in the final cook off which will take place in September.

The Taste New Zealand Chef of the Year winner will be announced at The Pro Chef Awards 2017 taking place on Monday 6th November 2017.
