A consummate hotelier, Mark McCarthy joined Al Ghurair Rayhaan & Al Ghurair Arjaan by Rotana in March 2011 bringing with him a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry – 19 successful years in the business, most of them spent managing the daily operations of a prestigious international hotel brand in several key markets, in addition to delivering strong financial results and overseeing major renovation programmes.
McCarthy’s extensive experience includes five years as a Senior Consultant at major accounting firm Laventhol and Horwath and a solid managerial track record as part of the InterContinental Group at properties across the Middle East – in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, UAE and Egypt – in addition to Zambia and the US.

His role in the crucial pre-opening phase has involved hiring 460 team members, purchasing operating equipment, establishing all operating procedures and negotiating all contracts.
Prior to his appointment at Al Ghurair Rayhaan & Arjaan by Rotana, McCarthy spent four years as General Manager of the Towers Rotana Hotel in Dubai.
